Mark was born in southern California in 1955 and worked for his father’s business on Alameda Street in Compton back in the 1960’s. In 1977 he graduated with highest honors from California State University at Chico with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science.
Upon graduation from college Mark worked for his father’s real estate development company in northern California. Later Mark became a successful real estate broker in Nashville, Tennessee which he retired from in 2014. Other positions held by Mark include the following:
In 1995 – Mark served as Marketing Director for Stage Craft, a theatrical set construction business. Among other noteworthy accomplishments Stage Craft built the mind bending flowering mirror ball effect (shown below) for Pink Floyd’s 1994 world tour.

Mark worked for High Sierra Concerts which promoted and produced rock concert events in Nevada featuring major touring attractions.

California Marijuana Law Reform
Internship – In 1977, as a student at California State University at Chico, Mark served as a student intern at NORML (National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Law) at the San Francisco office on the corner of Union and Fillmore and worked on Assembly Bill AB 367 introduced by Assemblyman Willie Brown.
